It's the final countdown! Even though I got up especially early this morning, it's been go, go, go! Having got every single item from the drying room to the dining room, I rounded up each tent to return borrowed sleeping bags and check dry clothes, despite this we still have a dozen left over items which will be in Chestnut Classroom on Monday.
Each group had a mostly dry session in the morning: Group A had a mostly dry bush craft session hopefully they had finished their shelter before the rain; Group B completed the obstacle course and archery ( they were the lucky ones and under cover when the rain made an appearance) and group C just about finished their climbs and abseiling before the rain began. As soon as plates were cleared, we loaded the coach and are on our way. All of our group instructors - George, Ros and Al - came to see us off, they had been impressed with Chestnut Class all week, in fact all three said they had had their best week this season. I can believe that, the children were fantastic all week, showing all the qualities that we hope to see - resilience, perseverance, compassion and independence.
