Chestnut Class produced some amazing homework last half term. Unfortunately sometimes I was so wowed I forgot to take a picture - the model of Lakeside by Gabriel has to be seen to be believed!
This half term we are all bringing our homework on the same day and having more time to look at everyone's hard work. The due date is Friday December 8th. That's still four weeks away; so plenty of time to get creating. I have linked below a couple of sights we are using in school which have great information. Just click on the images.

Dashing out of School, Four friends desperately waited for their parents to come and pick them up. "Why don't we go to the park!" excitedly shouted Billy. Billy and Phillip were very boisterous boys; they were brave and loved to have fun. Suddenly a sound monopolised the two brothers and the twins -Jenny and Lenny's - attention. Dramatically something terrible happened...
Unexpectedly, the two boys knocked each over out, black spots, swiftly filled the brothers eyes. The hungry dogs moaned and swayed in the wind as if they were going to eat you. Billy and Phillip were unconscious, they had transformed into a blood curdling creature. Jenny jumped back and froze. paralysed with fear, they held each other- trying not to fall over. Goose bumps raised the size of Mount Everest. Then things began happening. Like a werewolf, the violent creatures, who had red blood shot eyes that illuminated. All of a sudden billy and Phillip began to rise from the wet floor."run for your life!"The twins screamed so much that the sound echoed around and shook the floor, they had a petrified face that stared at the brothers with horror. Sprinting, Jenny and Lenny were at the door in an instant. The putrid blood came meandering down their body as they snarled their teeth furiously. Jenny and Lenny were pounding on the door Frantically. The twins eventually got in, they yelled and screeched down the corridor. They ran in to the hall, however there was no where to go, they realised they would be trapped unless they ran for. Their life down into the library. "Hide while you can!" The dreadful creatures came in desperately to find the humans, they saw a hand behind the bookshelf, they looked behind it but the hand wasn't there. In a flash Jenny leapt out of the window with all her might! Lenny tried to jump but razor sharp claws dug into his jumper. Lenny was captured... Rueben
The Children That Never Came Back.
Lee and Annabelle were best of friends; they were never seen one without each other. Although they were best of friends, they are not alike Lee is cheeky, rude and lazy; on the other hand Annabelle was kind, helpful and hard working. They were in class 6, an ordinary every day class room, when Lee and Annabelle asked to go to the toilet. Really the only reason they went was to have a joke. As soon as they got to the toilets, a loud bang came from the boys. Lee suggested they check it out. Nothing. Only 3 unoccupied toilets. Bang! There it was again. But nothing had happened, nothing had fallen over, nothing had shaken. Shivers started creeping down their spines. Then suddenly CRASH…. they were standing in the forest with no idea how they got there and no control over there bodies. It was only then when they realised what had happened to them... ~~~~~~~~~~ Miss Arthurian’s face was as white as a sheet, her breathing rapid and a look of panic on her face. She was looking for the children; she had to find them or she would be sacked. Five minutes later, she spotted them but then Annabelle and Lee started to slowly, slowly move towards the cornered teacher. There was only one thing the teacher could do: jump over the barbed wire. She did. She was safe for now at least. She had to warn everyone she could. Sadly no one believed her. To this day Lee and Annabelle live in the forest chasing everyone who comes in... Caitlin Disappearance from MrsWills on Vimeo. Disappearance Isabel, a nine year old girl was out walking with her two older brothers (who had been forced into taking her by her mum and dad to take her along) into a crooked pine forest. The brothers had only said that they were going to the park, but had a plan to go to the woods after recent disappearance in the newspaper. Isabel was an annoying little girl, that's what the twins thought, because she was always trying to be as cool as them. In the middle of the forest,a thick layer of fog loomed over the groaning trees in the howling wind. Suddenly the mountain like shape of a shed appeared in the blood shot eye of the twilight sky; the rotten ramshackle shed door read: NO ENTRY,DANGER OF DEATH, with a big black skull. Her lip quivered, one of the brothers muttered "what's that doing their?" The door was locked by several padlocks and a rustic iron chain. The twins smiled at each other and got to work picking the locks; Isabel watched in amazement as the last lock fell to the ground. Suddenly ruby red eyes appeared in a window, a drop of sweat trickled down her smooth fore head even though it was a winters day. "Err...there's something in their. "the adventurer said but the twins ignored her. Isabel was just walking around a corner of the shack when a boney, four fingered hand reached out the shadowy darkness and grabbed hers, she tried to get away but it was as strong a bear, she screamed her brothers sprinted to see if she was alright; she was not there. "We need to go and find help! "exclaimed one of them, they charged off to find someone. 5 minutes later, on the edge of the woods a dog walker with a beautiful Labrador appeared round a corner "hey help us!" They screened "our sister has been captured by something. ""really." She bitterly said in a disbelieving voice "oh alright I'll help as long as it's not to far to go," so they set off back to the shed, hoping there was still time. Half an hour later they arrived at the same old rotten shed "in here the twins whispered ."Inching toward the door a wisp of chilly air stood there hair on end" she's not here!" muttered one of the twins ,there was a strong smell of blood in the air "well so much for helping your sister!" said the woman, stamping off into the blue. Isabel was never seen again, police inquiries found nothing but the twins still believed she was still alive with or without the monster. Be prepared to be terrified! Or at least impressed with our story telling and camera angles. Chestnut Class have been learning to be more precise in their language when describing characters and settings. We have used the Write Brothers unit of work, which they developed in collaboration with the Literacy Shed, to discover how to do this better. We have focused on the use of 'show not tell' to build tension and create a stronger atmosphere. We took our writing skills and created a short trailer using iMovie. As well as being great fun; it helped us understand how to structure a story. Please comment if you enjoy our trailers.
