When I got to the school field on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs Hempsall got us warmed up. First we got in to small teams of 4 to 5 people, we had a rugby ball as we were jogging slowly round the field. We had to pass the rugby ball, when it got to the back, that person had to run to the front of the line. Next we got in to two triangles and we throw it going diagonally. We went in to two teams of 14, 15 or 16 depending on how many of us there was. Finally we got the tag belts on ready for the game. As we started playing I grabbed the ball and ran from my opponent dogging and running. Everyone tried to grab my tag. But I wasn’t going to let that happen. I ran and ran and ran. I scored a try. My team was so proud of me. My trainers are only now starting to get muddy. It was 3 quarters in to the game when my trainers looked like mud chocolate birthday cakes. It was the best tag rugby game in my entire life, as soon as that whistle blew to say GAME OVER. After that I had a quick drink before going to get changed. I was sweating from head to toe. When we got in to the girls cloak room we had to pull the curtain across. I went to the water fountain and drowned my face in water than mopped it up with paper towel. We were all exhausted, dehydrated and tired. If there was a rugby tournament then count me in! BY PAISLEAH

On a cold frosty Monday morning I went to cross country to support our school. We started walking down to the rec; I was walking with my friend Emily. We chatted the whole way but that didn’t matter. I had butterflies but I kept walking. When we got there we started warming up and then the first race went on. To keep us warm we cheered people on. Harvey won the first round, then it was Year 5 turn and they went rushing off to the 2nd lap. Florrie won that round. Then it was the Year 5 boy’s turn. We cheered everybody on but mostly our school, while we were waiting. We chatted a little (maybe a lot but that doesn’t matter) and after all the chatting we stretched. And got ready for our race it was only one more race to go until that we got warm and had a little snack so we don’t get hungry. But we didn’t eat a lot or else we would get a stich. It was so much fun there, but then the Year 5 boy’s race was over. So now it was my turn to race. We went to the start line and got in to our positions. Then the whistle blew and we began to run as fast as lightning. Even though it was my turn, I felt the butterflies in my stomach disappear. After my first lap I was exhausted, but I kept going all the way through my second lap. I saw Liberty and Ella in front of me and I raced to catch them up and I got a little encouragement of the adults. I could see Ella cross the finish line in 1st place then Liberty following behind in 2nd place and I knew I was going to be in 3rd place “victory”!!! I was so happy when I crossed the finish line but I could not feel my legs after that race. It took me a 3 days to recover properly. So now I have to face the next race now so that day I had to go to school for the first lesson. When we lined up to go to assembly. So then me and Ella, liberty and Libby we got are stuff and walked to the office and waited for liberty’s mum. Then we got in the car I went in the front but that didn’t matter well least I got to control the radio. Still I got to talk to my friends at the bake of the care and so we paled a lot off music. We lost track of time and we were already there. So we got our lunch and hade a little snack so we don’t get hungry. So after we had our snack we went to the meeting point so we put our mat down so our bags don’t get wet and then we started to walk around the race track but then we herd “the year 3 race is starting in 10 minutes” so we rushed to the finish line to get of the race track. As we waited for our turn we cheered people on after all that cheering it was our turn to race I had butterflies when I was walking to the start line it was pretty in tens so when the lade blew the whistle I raced to the front but then my legs were so tied some people over took me but I still was in the top ten and when I sore the finish line this girl moshed and over took me then I realised that they were handing out the envelops to the last person and that person was in front so I knew I was coming 11th but I still tried my best it made me laugh when I forgot to eat my lunch .I wasn’t even hungry so I went to my dad and we went back home. So I came 11th so now I am the 11th best runner in the county. That day was the best day ever. By Poppy
Knowing both the multiplication and division facts is extremely important. It is essential for using both the written multiplication and division methods. Practice on Hit the Button above.
On the big play ground just before half term we were doing obstacle courses with are table groups my group was Chloe, George, Alex we were good team work we set up our obstacle course with random equipment from the P.E shed hurdles, basketball, football and then the year 5 started making their way out of the building to going us with our P.E lesson. When the whistle blew we let the year 5 start there P.E lesson with us then about after 5 minutes they swap to a different obstacle course then we have a different group with us it went really well for us next time we would want to make it better a little bigger and a teeny weeny bit different to make it a bit more interesting for the year 5 I really want to do it again because it was really want to do. OH and when I saw the ukulele I was thinking I am not going to like this at all and I do I really do like it now if I had a chance to play it in high school I will say “YES” I will never want to stop playing at all By Zander In September, every year, on the frosty junior playground all of the juniors get together to play conkers. It has been a tradition to play conkers throughout our school history. Once the school had been refreshed of the rules, we were told our pairs and we chose our conkers. It’s important to choose the right conker: fairly small so to be a hard target and fairly big so it packs some power. We progressed outside and started practicing our swings. Finding our partners, we waited for the whistle that signaled us to go. I stared at Joe, (my partner) occasionally screwing my eyes up. I could feel the tension building up in my arms, waiting for what seemed like forever. It felt like just me and Joe in a face of in the Wild West. Finally, the whistle blew. Wham! I hit his conker with all my force! Whizz! He missed my conker by millimeters! I swung, hit, and missed, everything you could think of to play conkers. All too soon, it was over, and the verdict was that I went through to the next round. I played as hard as I could again, but I was defeated. The final was the best I had ever seen! There was chanting and a lot of excitement in the air. The finalists were Aden and Florrie: the competition was fierce. The final fling was made and the whistle blew. The scores were checked and verified. “The winner is…FLORRIE!!!!!!!” we were in fits of laughter and cheering for her on the frosty junior playground. By Niamh As I entered the big hall I could hear the sound of jolly music that just wants to make you dance, the songs are from 1980 to 1920. When the music is playing we dance while our music teacher “Mrs Shaw” is giving us the actions. After we sit down and pick our brightly coloured ukuleles up. As soon as we pick our ukuleles our music teacher starts us with a song of her choice for example - my dog has fleas - it’s a very easy song using the cord of C. Everyone gets the hang of it quickly and we’re all strumming our ukuleles to the beat of the catchy song. By Jamie B
Out and about is all about getting into nature and having fun. Out and about always stars with safety. After that the fun begins. Out and about takes plays on a Friday and we sometimes we do a bit on a Monday. It takes place at the nest honestly like it better outside than in a class room because I love the fresh air and being out side and herein the chatter of the birds I am so happy that the nest was built by class 4 I took part in building the nest. What a pleasure to see all of us getting our hands dirty like I do every day on my dad’s farm. By William It was the day of the conker competition. We were lining up to go to the hall to have the rules explained, there was a tense atmosphere in the line. When we got into the hall Mrs Yates was waiting with all the conkers lined out, there was a lot of conkers different shapes and sizes. Mrs Yates started to explain the rules, it was all the same as last year but it was good to get reminded. Last year’s runner up Florrie did a demonstration of a game of conkers. Mind refreshed I chose my conker and started my match. I was playing with Emily we had a hard play. Knock after knock after knock we played extremely hard. It went very fast but between us we managed about 15 knocks! Afterwards we had a look at our conkers none of them had smashed none of them were dented but Emily had done more hits so sadly I was out. So Emily went on to round two. I was so disappointed, I played so hard but at the end of it is the taking part that counts. Skip forward to the final everyone had become just two people including last year’s runner up Florrie. The amount of cheering was absolutely incredible there was a mix of support but it seemed to be Florrie who had the most people on her side. Both finalists played so hard in three minutes that the match lasted for but at the end there could only be one winner. The wait felt like the longest minute of my life but after all of that time the winner was finally announced. The winner was last year’s runner up Florrie! It was an amazing conker competition!
